In addition to directing and writing two of them, del Toro also contributed to the scripts of two others. The first day of the year 2022 was October 25.

Cabinet of Curiosities Season 2 Happen Or Not?

Netflix has not yet chosen whether or not to order a Cabinet of Curiosities Season 2 horror anthology series. It may be weeks or months before Netflix announces the decision about the show’s future.

Based on early data, it appears the sitcom’s first season wasn’t successful enough to warrant a second instalment. Cabinet of Curiosities, directed by Guillermo del Toro, has amassed a relatively low total of 106,920,000,000,000 hours watched on Netflix, especially in comparison to other Netflix Originals.

If the show is to be brought back, there needs to be a significant increase in viewers. Unfortunate, because Guillermo del Toro has already chosen the directors for Season 2.

Cabinet of Curiosities Season 2 Release Date

After seeing the first season of Cabinet of Curiosities, Netflix subscribers want to know if the show will be renewed for Cabinet of Curiosities Season 2. We’re a few weeks into the release of the anthology series. As of now, there has been no word on whether or not the series will continue on Netflix.

The fact that it has not been labelled a limited series gives supporters hope that it may return with a new set of scary tales. The anthology’s producers have yet to issue any official statements on the topic. There is presently no concrete information regarding the premiere of season two.

It’s safe to say that Guillermo is currently swamped with his extensive workload. He is scheduled to direct, produce, co-write, and produce multiple episodes and series. As a result, production won’t start for a time. If there are going to be more seasons, they will likely be released in the middle of 2024.

Cabinet of Curiosities Season 2 Latest Updates

Now that Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities has premiered to rave reviews, the Spanish director may be thinking about who he may contact for his next Netflix horror showcase.

Cabinet of Curiosities, handpicked by del Toro, premiered on Netflix the week before Halloween, providing horror aficionados with a stunning collection of films by both well-known and lesser-known filmmakers. The anthology series was well-received by critics and audiences alike, and it marked del Toro’s streaming debut with Netflix before the launch of his stop-motion adaptation of Pinocchio on December 9.

Even though neither Netflix nor del Toro have officially announced Cabinet of Curiosities Season 2, the Spanish creator is already building a wish list of potential guest stars. “There was a previous attempt to recruit Jayro Bustamente, but this time around, he was unable to do so due to COVID. One of the most recognisable names in Mexican cinema is Isaa Lopez.

When she landed the job on True Detective, she was supposed to direct an episode but was ultimately unable to “The latter is not shocking given del Toro’s love of Mexican film, as he explained to IndieWire. Del Toro also singled out Boots Riley (Sorry to Bother You) and Larry Fessenden (The Last Winter), praising Fessenden for his work on Habit.

In the same interview, Del Toro, who is now 58 years old, discussed how important it is to him to lend his support to fellow directors and how he cannot believe he has been able to make it this far in his own career. To paraphrase, “if I can do something to usher in a variety of the genre, I like it,” he stated of the serial format. Unlike his previous collaborations with the likes of Andy Muschietti in Mama, del Toro has an even greater potential to do so with Cabinet of Curiosities, as he can give his name and audience to eight different directors at once.

Del Toro has stated that he would prefer to write the stories that bookend a prospective Cabinet of Curiosities Season 2, with other writers taking care of the rest of the episodes. Del Toro thinks Cabinet of Curiosities is a one-of-a-kind venue since it gave him the chance to adapt Michael Shea’s The Autopsy.

For del Toro, the last few months have been very successful, with his Pinocchio adaption premiering to acclaim at the BFI London Film Festival and in select theatres across North America. The Disney version of Pinocchio, which was met with lukewarm reception, stands in stark contrast to this.

Endlines

I don’t want to reveal too much, because Guillermo del Toro is now a household name, but I will say that in his Netflix series, “The Shape of Water,” he shows a faultless mystery of epic proportions. Short version: I enjoyed every episode of the series, but my favourite was the seventh. I mean, seriously, it was amazing. For an 80s kid like me, it was a masterpiece of nostalgic brilliance, in the same vein as Stranger Things, without diminishing the quality of any of the other episodes. Yes, this is why we love Netflix so much, so keep it up!
