Just as Date A Live fans are celebrating the conclusion of yet another spectacular and dramatic final episode, production has been announced for Date A Live Season 5.
Harem anime is not for everyone, but Date A Live is one of the most well-known and cherished romantic comedies in the entire genre.
The final episode of Crunchyroll’s fourth season, “Cycle of Starvation,” is set to be released worldwide, and fans’ focus will quickly switch to the next date on their calendar.
Thanks to a recent confirmation from the official Japanese website and Twitter account, Date A Live season 5 is officially in production.
What’s The Deal With Date A Live?
Mecha, harem, and sci-fi all play a part in the rom-com that is Date A Live. Tengu City is an alternate, postapocalyptic Tokyo, and the protagonist is Shido Itsuka, a seemingly typical high schooler.
Shido is the definition of a good guy. At first glance, it’s hard to tell what makes him so capable of saving the planet.
When the greatest threats on the planet fall in love with Shido, he can kiss and bind their abilities within him. Shido’s enchanting benevolence is no match for these female celestial entities known as “Spirits,” despite their vast destructive power.
As the tale neared its end, Date A Live I-IV followed a similar plotline, bringing Spirits for Shido to neutralise.
Predictions for Date A Live Season 5
After Season 4, Date A Live 5 will most likely cover Volumes 16 and onwards.
Assuming it covers the entire light book series, Date A Live Season 5 will shed information on Kurumi’s position in Shido’s life and the universe at large.
The ultimate showdown between Ratatoskr and DEM will provide the groundwork for the story’s conclusion, which might make for exciting material for a follow-up season or film.
Since the first season of Date A Live aired in 2013, many changes have been made to the budget, production, and aesthetic of the show.
Whether Shido and Tohka will end up together or not, new and old fans alike have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming seasons of Date A Live.
Stay tuned, as we’ll keep you posted!

Date A Live Season 5 Filming Start Or Not?
Season 5 of Date A Live has been confirmed by the Japanese Twitter and website for the show. “Date A Live V Production choice!” was the title of the post. Fifth production decision in TV animation!”
The voice actors offered their comments on the announcement of a fifth season. As Shido’s mentor Nobunaga Shimazaki put it, “A fifth season is already in the works! Oh, the joy! Oh, I’m overjoyed right now! Please accept my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you! That’s very kind of you.
Of course, V is going to be even better than IV. Quite a slew of alarming happenings and omens have appeared! We sincerely hope you’ll be able to finish it. Enjoy!”
“Finally, we’ve gone this far…!” exclaimed Asami Sanada (Kurumi). That’s what I’m thinking. Kurumi might have remained an enigma if it weren’t for your assistance (laughs). That’s very kind of you. The plot ultimately gets to the heart of the matter in the final scene of the fourth season (although it has always felt like a climax). “It’s going to be great!”
It’s great news that the show will be returning for a fifth season, however there were online speculations that this would happen after the completion of Season 4 in Japan. “Date A Live TV Anime Season 5 in production” was first reported on Twitter by the Twitter feed ‘SugoiLITE’ earlier this week. Japanese leakers, including those on the ‘DateALive Fr’ French page, also stated that season 5 would be announced after the season 4 finale. ‘
In any case, given of the show’s success and the availability of source material, fans were confident that the hit anime series will return for season 5.

According to Anime Geek, season 4 episode 12 is planned to wrap out the original light novel series by adapting up to volume 16. There have been 22 light novel volumes published in Japan as of June 24th, which means that there could be enough material for two more seasons of anime.
We also think Date A Live is successful enough to warrant a fifth season, which would be great for the show’s future success. Crunchyroll has given the series an average rating of 4.3/5, while IMDB has given it an average rating of 6.9/10. However, the fourth season has showed some progress over the prior ones. With more than 172,000 members, Date A Live season 4 ranks as the highest-rated season so far on both Anime Planet and MyAnimeList, with the latter getting 7.83/10.
Season 4 ranked third in the AniTrenz fan surveys for the whole Spring schedule, demonstrating the show’s enduring global appeal.
Season 5 of Date A Live has yet to be given an official release date, although HITC believes it will air in April 2023 based on prior episodes’ production cycles.
