First Kill Season 2 Confirmed Or Cancelled: All Updates

This month, Netflix released the first season of First Kill, a new teen series about vampires. Vampire Diaries is about a vampire and a vampire hunter who fall in love but don’t realise it until they’re already committed to each other. That, of course, makes things a lot more difficult. Despite the fact that the first season of First Kill only had eight episodes, viewers are already asking if there will be more to come. The show’s lead Sarah Catherine Hook is optimistic that there will be any First Kill Season 2.

In an interview with The Wrap, Hook discussed the conclusion of Season 1 of First Kill and the possibility of a First Kill Season 2. While she didn’t give a full promise, Hook encouraged fans to keep an open mind regarding the possibility of a future renewal.

In order to get back, “I think if you guys would just watch the show and make sure that it’s in the top 10 on Netflix so that we can go to season two, then I’m fairly sure we can,” Hook said. “Done and dusted. Put it on your television and we’ll be OK. There is no need to worry about us. Don’t be alarmed, though.”

Leading protagonists Juliette and Cal were forced to part ways at the conclusion of Season 1 due to the hardships and heartbreak they experienced. Hook says the pair can repair the problem, but it will take a lot of effort.

What did you think of Netflix’s First Kill’s first season? Is there going to be another season? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

About What First Kill?

It was created for Netflix, and First Kill is an American sapphic supernatural teen drama series. It is based on Victoria Schwab’s short story of the same name. It focuses on Juliette and Calliope’s tumultuous relationship. Both are vampires, one is a vampire hunter, and they both fall in love with each other.

In more ways than one, they’re each ready to make their first kill Season 2 and go after each other’s necks. Viewers’ opinions on the show were divided; some were thrilled to see a lesbian vampire show, while others were disappointed by the show’s weak writing, which was a shame because it had a lot of promise. So, here’s a look at what’s coming up for the show:

Is First Kill Season 2 Renewed Or Not?

Although First Kill hasn’t yet been renewed, the fact that the game was published just a few weeks ago means we’re not too concerned.

If Netflix decides to continue with Savannah, it has plenty of time to do so following a solid showing on the top 10 global Netflix lists. We’d say there’s a decent possibility we’ll be visiting Savannah again soon. We’ll update this page with any fresh information as soon as we have it.

On Netflix, on the 10th of June, 2022, the show debuted. There were 30.34 million hours of viewing in the first three days, making the show one of Netflix’s top 10. It’s too early to know if the programme will be renewed or not, but it appears to be on the right path. Fans of the programme are keeping a careful eye on the show’s performance because Netflix has a history of cancelling lesbian-led shows even if they are popular. Fans of The Society and Atypical were outraged when Netflix decided to terminate I Am Not Okay With This, pointing out that shows with gay protagonists were spared the wrath of the cancellation.

It is common for Netflix to decide whether or not a show will be renewed or cancelled after the first 28 days. We still have a few weeks to see if the programme is renewed or not.

First Kill Season 2 Storyline

When it comes to fighting people and monsters in Savannah, Georgia, we witnessed plenty of action in the first season. Juliette and Calliope’s growing romance had to overcome numerous obstacles. (SPOILER ALERT)! Last but not least, Juliette’s sister Elinor murdered Cal’s brother Apollo and then transformed him into a vampire by Julliette in order to spare his life. Oliver, Juliette’s older brother, was rescued by Cal’s mother and sent to Oliver. He’s Elinor’s identical twin brother, and he’s out to exact revenge on the Fairmonts for exiling him.

To allow for a wide range of alternatives, the storyline has been left open. Although Cal and Juliette’s romance has soured, it has long been known that the two are connected on a far deeper level than just romantically. Elinor is currently in prison, Apollo is being cared for by a vampire, and Oliver is threatening to destroy his family’s history, so there is a lot of story to be told in the future.

First Kill Season 2 Cast And Main Lead

If the show is renewed for a First Kill season 2, Sarah Catherine Hook and Imani Lewis will almost certainly return as Juliette and Cal, respectively. Talking to Cosmopolitan about the possibility of a second season, the two principal actors expressed their desire for it. Lewis said, “We’re all crossing our fingers.”

In order to ensure a First Kill season 2, I’m urging viewers to watch the entire first season on Netflix as soon as possible. A hook has been added “I’m aiming for a dark moment for Juliette, based on the ending of First Kill. To see a different side of her, when she loses her humanity and becomes the monster that everyone wants her to be for a brief while.”

Aubin Wise (Talia) and Gracie Dzienny (Elinor) are all likely to return, as will Dominic Goodman (Apollo) and Phillip Mullings, Jr. (Theo), along with Jason R. Moore (Jack). Will Swenson, who played Sebastian, Jonas Dylan Allen, who played Ben, and Dylan McNamara, who played Oliver, are all expected to return.

What Is The Release Date Of First Kill Season 2?

The first season of the show will premiere in October 2020, with production set to begin at the end of 2021. This was confirmed in October of that year. In 2022, the show was available on Netflix. There should be no surprises if it’s renewed after the 28-day waiting period. If we’re lucky, the second season might premiere in late 2023 or early 2024.

First Kill’s second season, what to anticipate

Before we get into what’s next, let’s take a look back at the season 1 conclusion. The following is a summary of the events of the final episode:

Juliette and Calliope’s romance appears to be over, and Cal vows to murder Juliette and all other legacies like her one day.

Season 2 of The Vampire Diaries could revolve around Theo’s transition from human to vampire and his struggle to accept his new existence.

First Kill Season 2 How Well Perform On Netflix?

A total of 30.34 million hours were seen in the show’s first three days on Netflix worldwide. There was a lot of rivalry in the first week, with Surviving Summer and Stranger Things both grabbing headlines and viewers.

To judge how well First Kill did in its first three days of airtime, we can look at how it compares to similar series. It’s worth mentioning that when compared to Heartstopper, which had a decline in viewers due to shorter episodes, just 14.55 million people watched it. An alternative analogy would be In From the Cold, a science fiction or fantasy-themed television series with a similar style of storytelling. That racked up 24.72 million hours in just three days. The show has yet to be renewed for a second season, although it’s worth noting that viewership dropped by 64% between weeks two and three.

Additionally, we can examine raw data from FlixPatrol, which gathers daily top 10 lists from throughout the world and awards points to shows based on their place in the rankings. As of June 15th, the show ranked third on Netflix’s global popularity list, behind only Stranger Things and Peaky Blinders.

Using the globe map below, you can see where the show is doing best, with the strongest performers being Brazil, Eastern Europe, and Britain thus far.

We may also get a sense of how popular the show is based on Google Trends queries. In From the Cold, Heartstopper, and Vikings: Valhalla are among the shows that premiered in 2022.

Since its premiere, In From the Cold has been outperformed by the show, but it’s expected to fall short of the demand for Vikings: Valhalla (which has been renewed through season 3) and Heartstopper (which was renewed for two additional seasons).

Our favourite way to gauge the popularity of a film or television show is through IMDb’s MOVIEmeter charts, which have over half a billion monthly visitors and demonstrate that the show had virtually little anticipation before its premiere but debuted at number 63. Keeping an eye on it, we’ll keep an eye on it because, like other charts above, this show will have to prove itself in weeks 2 and 3 like the others.

First Kill Season 2 Trailer And Teaser

A trailer for the upcoming season isn’t yet available, but we’ll keep this page updated as soon as we get any new information or footage. For the time being, you may revisit the season 1 trailer right here.

First Kill Season 1 Recap

To be officially accepted as a member of The Legacies, the direct descendants of the natural born, Juliette must kill her first victim in order to prove her maturity as a vampire. As for the vampire-killing Calliope, she comes from a long line of legendary slayers. When Calliope is out of sight, Juliette sets her sights on Romeo—we mean Calliope.

Juliette and Calliope both fall in love with her, as expected, by chance. However, Calliope’s first kill came in a matter of seconds. Juliette was her first target when she learned she was one of the lurking demons. Juliette bites Calliope and pierces Juliet’s heart with her silver steak in the end of the forbidden teen love.

While Juliette has turned Theo’s death into a curse, it has also exacerbated Caliope and Juliette’s already fragile relationship. Calliope’s father is on the lookout for Theo now that he’s on the run. Also, Juliette’s sister Elinor, who is engaged in legal issues, isn’t helping matters for the vampire order.

First Kill Season 2 Ratings

Based on 21 critic reviews, Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a 58% approval rating with an average rating of 5.8/10. This sapphic soap about vampiric love is sincere enough to strike a stake through the hearts of the genre devout, but its amateurish execution leaves an aftertaste that’s more garlicky than sweet,” the website’s critics consensus states.

“Mixed or mediocre reviews” were expressed by Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score of 45 out of 100 based on the opinions of eight critics. The show had 30.34 million hours of global viewing time in its first three days on Netflix.

In terms of IGN, First Kill received a score of 5 out of 10 points.

Ninety-three percent of those who used Google thought the show was good.

At The End-

Despite the intriguing premise, my expectations for this episode were minimal. I was surprised to discover that this show was so enjoyable that I watched the entire season in one sitting!

Most of the praise goes to the two teenage stars and their chemistry, which was arguably the most enticing aspect of the series. Their romance was going to be so staged and implausible, I thought.

I was completely mistaken! Romeo and Juliet feelings were clearly in the air when it emerged that there was a natural setup for them to be together, and that even then there was a lot of rockyness in their relationship, mostly due to the tremendous issues between their families. The duo is one of the greatest written since Anthony & Kate from Bridgerton in terms of onscreen chemistry.

Emotional moments were also shared amongst the families, particularly at the end of the season, when people were faced with making difficult decisions.

Suffice to say, I won’t pretend that this show didn’t have issues. The images are what I find most objectionable. They had blood splatters that reminded me of something you’d see in a student film, but I’m not sure what type of budget they had. It’s probably for the best that they didn’t use too many special effects. In addition, there were a few setbacks and conflicts that were quickly resolved.

Because the show was already in the top 10 when I wrote this review, it’s difficult to predict if Netflix will decide to renew it. Many people enjoy it, even if the critics don’t think so.

The show’s sad cliffhanger has left me begging for more episodes to come.
