Based on the novella he co-wrote with Terry Pratchett in 1990, Good Omens Season 2 is a fantasy comedy series created and written by Neil Gaiman. Amazon Studios and BBC Studios collaborated on the six-part series, with Douglas Mackinnon directing and Neil Gaiman serving as showrunner.
Michael Sheen and David Tennant are the show’s leads, and they are joined by a massive ensemble cast that includes Adria Arjona, Miranda Richardson, Michael McKean, Jack Whitehall, Nick Offerman, Brian Cox, Mireille Enos, Jon Hamm, and Frances McDormand, who provides the series’ narration as God.
Similar to the novel, the film Good Omens follows a diverse cast of characters, both good and evil, as they work to bring about or prevent Armageddon from occurring from the perspectives of the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley.

Good Omens Season 2 Happen Or Not?
It will be a little longer yet. The launch date of the series has been announced as the summer of 2023. While it was frustrating to learn that we would have to wait so long, the news that the new season would be starting shortly was amazing to hear when it was announced at New York Comic Con.

We had no idea that the show would be brought back to life. There was an emphasis on the series’ short shelf life. Parts of the novel were used in the first season, but Neil Gaiman has said that without Sir Terry Pratchett, he would not finish the work. A big-screen version of it seemed like a no-brainer.
Good Omens Season 2 Relaese Date
Though the premiere date for Good Omens Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video is still up in the air, we have recently gotten some huge news on the subject.
At a panel held at New York Comic Con on October 7, 2022, it was announced that the new season would air in the summer of 2023.
In June 2021, when season 2 was first announced, Gaiman said on his website that set construction had already begun in Scotland and that filming would begin “soon.”
The first season of Good Omens lasted six months to film, beginning in September 2017 and ending in early March 2018. The launch is set for May 2019 on Amazon Prime.

Good Omens Season 2 Cast And Main Lead
The second season of Good Omens wouldn’t be complete without the devil and the angel. Both David Tennant’s Crowley and Michael Sheen’s Aziraphale will make a return appearance.
Given the discussion of a possible angelic prequel or origin narrative, you may have anticipated that Jon Hamm would reprise his role as the Archangel Gabriel (yay).
Angel Saraqael will be portrayed by Liz Carr (Silent Witness), and Quelin Sepulveda (Bridgerton) will play a character that hasn’t been specified yet. Others who have been confirmed for the show include Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith, Niamh Walsh, Tim Downie, Pete Firman, Andi Osho, and Alex Norton.
Season 2 of Good Omens stars David Tennant as Crowley and Michael Sheen as Aziraphale.
The character of Metatron, portrayed by Derek Jacobi of Harmony fame, was written by Mark Gatiss. As Glozier, Steve Pemberton Reece Shearsmith plays the Bard of Avon.
Good Omens Season 2 Plotline
According to an interview Gaiman gave to the press in 2017, the extra angels introduced in Season 1 (most notably Jon Hamm’s Gabriel) were inspired by his intentions for a sequel with Pratchett titled “about where the angels actually come from.”
“Our story actually begins about five minutes before anyone got around to saying ‘Let there be Light,'” Gaiman wrote on his website. This may hint at an origin narrative being featured in Season 2.
Gaiman teased mysterious narrative elements and promised fans “the answers have been seeking for” in a tweet: “We are back in Soho, and over time and space, solving a mystery that begins with an angel walking through Soho with no memory.”
Fans have speculated since the first season that Crowley and Aziraphale could be romantically involved due to their sizzling chemistry, and Gaiman has shown some openness to the idea.
The internet went crazy after season two was confirmed, convinced that the angel and demon would eventually tie the knot and become “Ineffable Husbands.” Gaiman’s enigmatic “wait and see” answer to a fan’s question was met with silence.
Good Omens Season 2 First Look
The first-look poster for the Neil Gaiman comedy series, which reunites David Tennant and Michael Sheen as angels, revealed that it will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the United States next summer. The next logical step is a broadcast on BBC Two.
Amazon announced at a panel at New York Comic Con on Friday (October 7) that “storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, The second season will centre on “Crowley, a fast-living demon, and the picky angel and rare book merchant Angela.
Aziraphale and Crowley have been living on Earth from the beginning, and now that the apocalypse has been stopped, they are settling back into normal life as mortals in London’s Soho district, when a mysterious messenger appears at their door.
Aside from Tennant and Sheen’s return as Crowley and Aziraphale, respectively, new cast members for season 2 include Nina Sosanya (His Dark Materials) and Quelin Sepulveda (The Man Who Fell to Earth).
Notable actors like Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) and Frances McDormand (Best Actress, The Revenant), however, will be absent from Season 2.
Neil Gaiman foreshadowed earlier this year that fans will have to wait a while for the release of Good Omens season 2 due to the heavy usage of special effects in the show.
“In fact, we didn’t stop filming until March. There’s a lot of work to do, “he said on his Twitter page.
