Jackie Clarke and David Caspe created the American sitcom Kenan Season 3. Kenan Williams, portrayed by Kenan Thompson, is a morning show host and widower with two kids, Aubrey (Dani Lane) and Birdie (Dannah Lane). In this episode, Williams tries to put the past behind him, but he runs into severe resistance from his ex-father-in-law Rick (Don Johnson) and brother Gary (Jason Ritter) (Chris Redd).
He and Mika, the show’s executive producer, became close friends (Kimrie Lewis). The first air date on NBC was February 16, 2021. In April of 2021, the network decided to renew the programme for a second season. The second season premiered on December 15, 2021, a full year before its regularly scheduled broadcast date of January 3, 2022. After two seasons, the programme was terminated in May of 2022.
Thompson received a nomination for the 2021 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on the programme.
Is Kenan Season 3 Happen Or Cancel?
As reported by Rumors, Kenan Thompson’s “Kenan,” a sitcom on NBC, has been axed after two seasons.
Thompson’s “Kenan,” created by “Saturday Night Live” head writer Lorne Michaels, follows the life of Kenan Williams (Thompson), a single parent and the anchor of the popular Atlanta morning programme “Wake Up With Kenan!” He is also the proud father of two gorgeous adolescent girls: the overly bright Aubrey (Danielle Lane), and the funny and unpredictable Birdie (Dannah Lane).
Many people in Kenan’s life, including his brother/manager/roommate Gary (Chris Redd), his eccentric employees, and his live-in father-in-law Rick (Don Johnson), have strong ideas on how he should go with his life after the death of his wife a year ago.
The cast of “Kenan” also includes Lea Thompson, Dani, Dannah Lane, Don Johnson, and Paul Rudd in addition to Kimrie Lewis and Taylor Louderman. Nielsen’s “most recent” ratings, which include a week of delayed watching where available, show that season two of “Kenan” averaged a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.4 million total viewers.
Creators of the “Kenan” show include Jackie Clarke and David Caspe. Michaels, Thompson, Andrew Singer, Caspe, Kenny Smith Jr., Lisa Muse Bryant and Bryan Tucke serve as executive producers. Both Universal Television and Michaels’ Broadway Video contributed to the making of this show.
NBC’s decision to cancel “Kenan” comes as the network is gearing ready to pitch to advertisers during the May 16 “upfronts” presentation in New York City. The broadcast network will next reveal its fall programming, including returning comedies and dramas as well as freshly planned projects like the “Quantum Leap” sequel and the comedy “Lopez vs. Lopez.”
Kenan Season 3 Release Date
We checked his Instagram to see whether he had hinted at a possible Kenan Season 3 even though the last two episodes of Season 2 had not yet aired. Both the guy and NBC have been silent on the subject of a Season 3 renewal as of January 31st. Just chill, Kenan fan! According to Deadline, Kenan’s first season was NBC’s fourth-best digital comedy launch. 7.4 million viewers, according to the same sources, watched Kenan’s pilot.
If Kenan’s second season numbers are similar to the first, we may expect NBC to renew the show for a third year. As of right present, the renewal status is uncertain. Soon after the end of Season 1, NBC renewed the show for a second season, so here’s hoping for more positive renewal news in the future.
The most recent episodes of Kenan attracted almost 1.5 million viewers on average, according to TVLine’s rating data for the week of January 18. Kenan’s ratings “lost some viewers [but] maintained] consistent in the demo,” as the story put it, indicating that the show’s core audience had not shifted.

Kenan Season 3 Recap
While Rick embarks on an exciting date, Kenan, encouraged by Gary, signs up for a dating service even though he may not be ready for it, and Mika and Pam come up with a scheme to save Tami from a tabloid photographer.
Gary and Rick get Birdie into major trouble at school by urging her to use TikTok before she is ready, while Kenan damages Tami’s emotions by confessing he doesn’t consider her a friend.
Kenan struggles to define his personal and professional ties to Mika, while Rick looks for inspiration and faces an unexpected foe.
Kenan loves for Mika, so even if she doesn’t want his help, he’s going to give it to her anyhow; Pam and Gary are both romantically interested in the same woman and are prepared to risk their friendship to win her over.
Gary is pursuing a potentially contentious social media revenue stream, and Mika, Tami, and Pam are driven to show him the consequences of this. After Kenan refuses to acknowledge that Aubrey is maturing, the two get into an argument.
Gary stumbles into the woman he will spend the rest of his life with, and he fights with how to tell her. Mika’s friends Kenan, Pam, and Tami accuse her of being a workaholic.
Pam and Gary want to launch a business, but Pam’s competitive nature prevents her from doing so; Kenan has second thoughts about informing his family about his girlfriend Janay.
When Bobbi decides to sell the family home, she assigns the basement clean-out to her sons Kenan and Gary, which causes Gary to reconsider his goals in life.
Rick and Loretta stay home to take care of their girls, but they have some problems of their own. Kenan, Gary, Mika, Tami, and Phil go to Miami to have fun, but they encounter obstacles when they all have the romantic feelings.
In conclusion, I was looking forward to seeing Kenan Thompson because of his amazing comic skill, which is apparent on SNL. The smart and humorous humour, natural chemistry, and situational humour throughout Season 2 make it a delight to watch.
As a widower father attempting to raise his kids with the support of his brother Gary and father-in-law Rick, I admire Kenan’s bond with his daughters. Every one of these people has their own unique brand of hilarity. Episode 5 of season 2 was my favourite because it was so adorable and heartwarming, as Kenan tries to accept that his daughter is growing up.
I think Kenan would be a great choice for a movie to see with the kids or other members of the family. Season 3 can’t come soon enough for me!
