Netflix has only bought the first three seasons of the program in order to bring the plot to a satisfactory finish, thus there will be no fourth season. As a result, season three was the last one, and there is little chance of a fourth season being made available soon.

Locke & Key Season 3 Recap
It took Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s popular comic book series Locke & Key a long time to get a full series order from Netflix (and a number of pilots, like this one from 2011 that you can see here), but in 2019, they finally got what they deserved. In this creative urban fantasy book, the Locke family of Matheson, Massachusetts, investigates a mysterious home they acquired and have christened “Keyhouse.”
The third and final season, which premiered on August 10, 2022, features a satisfactory finish to the series and introduces a new nemesis in the shape of Kevin Durand’s Captain Frederick Gideon, a Revolutionary War soldier afflicted by a demon.

The final arc of Season 3 not only concludes Gideon’s search for the keys but the whole magical story of the Lockes, all while introducing a fresh new key late in the game. By delving into the psyche of actor Gordie Shaw (Michael Therriault) to find the Creation Key, the last two episodes (one of which was co-written by series creator Joe Hill) showcase some of the most bizarre visuals in the series.
Locke & Key Season 4 Ratings
The third season has a 38% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 8 reviews, with an average review score of 5.8/10.
Critics praised the series in general, singling out the series’ soundtrack, set design, and visual effects as particularly noteworthy. Although the show received high marks for its treatment of topics like loss and trauma, as well as its use of horror conventions, it was panned for dragging its feet with unnecessary teen-drama and romantic subplots. Jackson Robert Scott and Laysla De Oliveira’s portrayals were singled out for high commendation.
The programme “was nearly as stunning a start as Stranger Things was in 2016, but it [needed] a few changes to pass the threshold between outstanding and spectacular,” as reported by USA Today. IGN awarded the programme high ratings for its portrayal of trauma and its visual effects, as well as for the work of Scott and de Oliveira, but it criticised the show for not consistently producing suspense throughout the episodes.
