The list of potential cast members for the upcoming Hollywood film starring Mattel icon Barbie has become much larger. A live-action version of Margot Robbie Barbie Malibu princess’ universe has intrigued moviegoers since it was announced that she will produce and appear in a forthcoming film.

While attending the opening of his new film in 2019, Robbie discussed why he felt Barbie was a figure worthy of being brought to life. In an interview with Variety, she said, “I believe it’s a terrific opportunity to put some positivity out there and a chance to be aspirational for younger kids.”

Warner Bros., Mattel, and Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment are collaborating on the project, which Greta Gerwig will direct from a story she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach, the “Little Women” and “Lady Bird” director. There has been a lack of information regarding the picture, and the narrative has been encased in plastic.

Margot Robbie Barbie Cast And Other Roles

Both Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie have been nominated for Academy Awards for their roles as Ken, Barbie’s beloved male toy. Because of this, fans are wondering whether their other plastic playmates will make an appearance (Will Skipper make an appearance?) Christie?).

Emmy-winning performers America Ferrera (Ugly Betty, Superstore) and Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live) are in the supporting cast, as well as Marvel heroine Simu Liu (Shang-Chi).

Margot Robbie’s Barbie Cast

Leading trans actors Hari Nef (“And Just Like That,” “You”) and Alexandra Shipp (“Tick, Tick… Boom!”) have joined the ensemble in previously undisclosed characters, Variety has exclusively discovered. Also in the cast is Ariana Greenblatt, who is reported to be playing a toy business CEO, and Will Ferrell.

Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, Sharon Rooney, Scott Evans, Ana Cruz Kayne, Ritu Arya, and Jamie Demetriou are among the newest cast members. Emerald Fennell, who produced Robbie’s Oscar-winning picture “Promising Young Woman,” will also participate in the reunion. Fans have observed how much Emma Mackey resembles Robbie, and the cast also includes “Sex Education” actors Ncuti Gatwa and Connor Swindells.

Margot Robbie Barbie Filming Start Or Not?

It’s bad news for those of us who anticipated that the live-action Barbie movie would be a terrible imitation of Aqua’s 1997 song “Barbie Girl”: the movie really looks very nice. At Cinema Con on Tuesday, April 26, Warner Bros. published the first picture of Margot Robbie as Barbie, and I have to say, they nailed it.

On July 21, 2023, Barbie is scheduled to be released, and so far, I’d say it looks excellent. Having Ryan Gosling as Ken, Kate McKinnon as Kate, Alexandra Shipp as Alex, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Hari Nef, Will Ferrell, and Emma Mackey, Robbie’s doppelgänger, in the ensemble already makes a difference (best known for her work on Sex Education). On top of all of this, writer/director Greta Gerwig has paired up with writer/writer/director Noah Baumbach, who is supposed to be giving the plastic bombshell her own distinctive take.

To be fair, Robbie sitting in the Barbie dream automobile is enticing to me as a sceptic of the doll. It’s safe to say that Robbie won’t be using prosthetics to give her Barbie-like dimensions, which would have been a genuinely horrific vision. Having boobs the size of your head may be a perk of living in a plastic world. This is a vast improvement.

WB’s Leavesden Studios in London started production early this year for a 2023 theatrical release of “Barbie.”

Is There More Projects After Margot Robbie Barbie

Other live-action Barbie movies have been announced throughout the years, in addition to her approximately 40 animated film appearances. “Juno” and “Young Adult” writer Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway were both linked to portray Barbie when Sony set up a live-action remake. The studio enlisted Diablo Cody as one of their screenplay writers.

Mattel Films and Warner Bros. partnered together to produce Barbie’s big-screen debut, while Robbie, Gerwig, and Baumbach joined the project in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Robbie, Tom Ackerley, Mattel’s Robbie Brenner, and David Heyman of Heyday Films produce the film in addition to Robbie’s leading role. Executive producers include LuckyChap’s Josey McNamara and Ynon Kreiz of Mattel.

Barbie is a Margot Robbie vehicle for a romantic comedy. As a fashion-forward doll, she will appear in the movie. In addition to Margot, the picture features Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Hari Nef, and Will Ferrell. Viewers Expectation From Margot Robbie Barbie

Vogue spoke to Robbie about the “baggage” and “nostalgic ties” of the character of Barbie during an interview in August 2021.

At the time, she said, “But with it comes a lot of new ways to address it.” If you mention Barbie to people, they’re more likely to assume, “I know what that movie is going to be,” but if you mention Greta Gerwig as the writer and director, they’re more likely to consider the possibility that they don’t.

Margot Robbie Barbie First Look Released

In Margot Robbie’s universe, she’s just another Barbie doll!

Margot Robbie’s Barbie first look

Warner Bros. Pictures announced the film’s release date and a first look photograph of the 31-year-old actress portraying the famed Mattel doll at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week.

The release date for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film has been set for July 21, 2023, according to a studio tweet.

Suicide Squad actor Robbie was shown with a polka-dot headpiece and striped halter top in the accompanying photograph in the social media post.

A pink Chevrolet Corvette convertible and a pink artificial stone background made her grin as she leaned forward in the vehicle.

With her blonde hair styled in a bob, Robbie evoked the look of an American doll with a beaded bracelet.

It had previously been planned that Amy Schumer would be playing Barbie, who signed on to the film in December 2016.

As a result of schedule issues, she stepped down from the project in March 2017.

However, she claimed last month that she left the show because of artistic issues.

For her, doing things the way she wanted was “the only way I was interested in doing them,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Said Schumer, “The concept that it’s simply what every woman must desire, right there, I should have gone, ‘You’ve got the wrong gal,'” when the studio gave her a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes to congratulate her on her casting news.

Before Robbie took over, Anne Hathaway was said to be interested in the job once she left.

Production on the film is now beginning in the U.K.

End Lines-

It’s Barbie, after all, so it’s just- incredible. Even though I’m a teenager, I want to lead the life she does. It would be great if Barbie’s life were as exciting and enjoyable as mine.
