There’s a lot of material to draw from, but we still don’t know if the anime will be picked up for Monster Musume Season 2. Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls, a harem fantasy anime, is licensed by Sentai Filmworks. Okayado originally penned and illustrated the manga series from which this story is adapted.
The story follows Kurusu Kimihito, a naive human teenager whose life is turned upside down when he is chosen to take part as a “volunteer” in a government exchange program.
Kurusu must accommodate the lamia-like creature Miia, who moves in with him as part of his new job, and ensure that she can participate in his regular activities. Kurusu has a problem with Miia because she is undeniably attractive but they are forbidden to breed due to the strict nature of the ban on interspecies mating.
An already challenging situation for a human adolescent dealing with the effects of raging hormones is compounded when a gorgeous centaur girl and a flirtatious harpy both move in.
Monster Musume Season 2 Happen Or Not?
In 2015, the original manga series was adapted into an anime series. In charge of directing was Tatsuya Yoshihara, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu penned the script.
The animation studio responsible for the project was called Lerche. Including the specials, there were a total of 14 episodes in the series (OVA). There have been 17 volumes released so far, and more are on the way. There is a lot of source material to work with, but there hasn’t been much talk about making a second season of the anime.

However, there appears to be a secret Easter egg in the series’ final moments that points to a continuation into a second season. According to Crunchyroll, Japanese fans have decoded the “Niki letter,” which is the romanized version of the Japanese term “phase 2 decision,” to reveal that the animators hid the clue there. In the eyes of the fans, this means “second season confirmed” in English. But that was in 2015, and we haven’t heard anything new since then.

The anime has only adapted about a quarter of the manga so far. Conflict among the liminal may arise at some point if they are to marry Kimihito. There will likely be additional monster girls from other regions vying for the attention of the Kurusu. When Kurusu works on a farm, he learns about many more bodily processes, such as milking and spore-releasing. As the story develops, the subplot involving the diplomatic relations between humans and monsters remains in the background.

Monster Musume Season 2 Release Date
The renewal status of the show has not been revealed as of yet. If the anime is announced soon, we might see it later this year, or we might have to wait until 2023.
Is Monster Musume Season 2 Enough Material
There are 17 volumes of the Monster Musume manga. On December 20, 2022, volume 17 will be published in English. Okayado provides the artwork for the Manga, and Seven Seas Entertainment is responsible for publishing it in English.
The release history and schedule can be gleaned from the table. The first 25 chapters of the manga served as the basis for the first season of Monster Musume.
There are currently 70+ chapters available, so there is more than enough content for a second anime season. To the relief of viewers, this proves the show’s ability to sustain itself narratively over multiple seasons. Is the series going to be successful enough to warrant continuing?
