Reacher Season 2: Even though it’s been a whole year since Reacher first appeared on Amazon Prime Video, the series is still one of the most watched on the service. Despite speculation that Tom Cruise might join the cast, the season actually featured the return of Lee Child as Jack Reacher. This time around, however, Alan Ritchson will be front and centre. As far as we can tell, here is all you need to know about Reacher season 2 thus far…
Reacher Season 2 Release Date
The second season was renewed just three days after the first one premiered on Amazon Prime. In any case, we have yet to hear about a scheduled release. We’re back, larger and better than ever,” Ritchson reportedly told Deadline “an explanation he gave in a video. We’re all set to go, so break out the Reacher slate! Now that this has been formalised, count us in.”

Ritchson posted the following on Instagram after learning that Reacher has been renewed for a second season: “Whoaaaaaa!!! Whoa, that’s fantastic! It’s not that I agree with Reacher’s decision to remain silent; it’s only that, unlike him, I find myself at a loss for words “.

Reacher Season 2 Plotline
By the conclusion of the first season of Reacher, Jack has narrowed down the suspects in the murder of his brother and is on the verge of making an arrest. A time leap is possible in Season 2, as the showrunner has hinted at. The showrunner recently told Radio Times that they are not trying to impose any particular novel into Season 4.
“The books are unknown to me. I’m the one responsible for their creation. I have never gone back to reread them. I have heard stories about them, so I feel like I know them somewhat. Furthermore, there are several who have enormous popularity ” What made the first season so amazing was seeing Reacher’s loneliness eased via his interactions with others, and I hope that trend continues in future seasons. That so, there are two or three works that are particularly noteworthy in this regard. Then again, maybe just one.”
Reacher Season 2 Based On Any Novel
The first season of Reacher adapted the first Jack Reacher novel by Lee Child. For Season 2, Alan Ritchson, the show’s lead, announced in May of 2022 through Twitter which book will serve as inspiration for that season.
The eleventh novel in the series, Bad Luck and Trouble, follows Reacher as he investigates the killings of members of his former military police team. Nick Santora, the show’s creator, has said that the television adaptation of Reacher would not adhere to the novels’ chronology.
As Amazon puts it, the season’s official logline is a little more bleak: “When the men of Reacher’s former military unit start showing up dead, Reacher has only one thing on his mind – retribution.” What the hell, man.

Reacher Season 2 Latest Updates
The launch date for Season 2 of Reacher has not yet been announced, but based on reports that production began in September of 2022, we can probably anticipate it sometime in 2023, perhaps in the first part of the year. Season 1 of Preacher debuted in February of last year. Prime Video TV president Vernon Sanders agreed with the prediction, telling Collider the service will return in 2023.
Sanders, referring to the second season’s conclusion in the year 2022, remarked, “Everything is working out well. Alan has returned, and he’s better than ever. I’m so happy that they were able to cast Reacher in that role. Book readers who like the Reacher series have had a fantastic response to the TV adaptation. This new season is fantastic. There’s a high possibility the programme will return for a third season since, as fantastic as Season 1 was, Season 2 is even better.”
Reacher Season 1 Review
In particular, we thought Ritchson was a fantastic choice to play Reacher in the television adaption. We got through the episodes quickly, and there was certainly space for development. We were only able to examine the first five episodes of the season, but we believed the show improved as the season progressed up to the season finale. What follows is our evaluation.
