Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ first season may be over, but the Paramount+ show won’t be resting on its laurels. Strange New Worlds Season 2 is said to have finished production. In spite of the fact that we don’t know when the second season will premiere, the show’s cast and production members have already shared delicious behind-the-scenes secrets regarding fan-favorite supporting characters like Erica Ortegas (Melissa Navia) and Christine Chapel (Jess Bush).
Fans can now get a closer look at a stunning new location that will appear in season 2 thanks to a new set tour conducted by production designer Jonathan Lee. There’s a retro-futuristic bar on board the Enterprise that the crew of the ship has never been to before, according to a report. Because, of course, Captain Pike (Anson Mount) would have that on board his ship.
What Is Strange New Worlds?
“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” follows Captain Christopher Pike and his crew as they explore new worlds and conduct missions throughout the galaxy in the 23rd century, a decade before the debut of “Star Trek: the Original Series.” CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, Weed Road Pictures, H M R X Productions, and Roddenberry Entertainment produce the season, with Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers as showrunners.
There are a number of other notable actors who appear on Star Trek: The Next Generation including Anson Mount (Pike), Ethan Peck (Spock), and Rebecca Romijn (Number One). ‘Strange New Worlds’ season two will begin filming at CBS Stages Canada in Mississauga, Ontario, from February to July of 2022 as confirmed in January.

They decided to continue the first season’s episodic storytelling style, inspired by The Original Series, with each episode having a different genre and tone.. There are several guest stars this season who play younger versions of characters from the original series, as well as several main cast members who take on these roles.
There will be ten episodes in the season, which will broadcast on Paramount+ in 2023.
Strange New Worlds Season 2 Filming Start Or Not?
CBS Stages Canada in Mississauga, Ontario, began filming Lily and Isaac on February 1, 2022. Chris Fisher, the season’s producing director, directed the season’s first episode. While Row was directing the third episode, Eduardo Sánchez was directing the fourth, which aired on March 14.
This season’s episode was directed by Jonathan Frakes during the week of April 4 after he was unable to work on the first season due to disruptions in his schedule on Star Trek: Picard as a result of the pandemic. Dan Liu, the director, began shooting the sixth episode the week of April 11. Months after the month’s end, there was still some work to be done on the episode. Valerie Weiss was also in charge of the season’s production. July 1 was the last day of filming for the second season.
Is Strange New Worlds Season 2 Happen Or Not?
The second season of Strange New Worlds began production earlier than expected because of the early renewal. It’s actually already been finished.
Production was declared complete by director and producer Chris Fisher on July 1st, 2022.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 has come to a close! His tweet read, “Thank you to the best cast and crew ever as well as to the city of Toronto and the rest of Canada for all your love and support!”
To all of our fans and those who are part of our #toboldlygo movement, thank you.”
Season two of Strange New Worlds will most likely premiere in the first half of 2023, thanks to this faster production schedule. Alternatively, Paramount might answer our pleas and push the film ahead even earlier.
Strange New Worlds Season 2 Cast And Main Lead
Season one’s most important players, including the likes of:
- Christopher Pike was played by Anson Mount.
- Spock is played by Ethan Peck.
- The role of Christine Chapel was played by Jess Bush
- In the role of La’an Noonien-Singh, Christina Chong
- Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura in the Star Wars films
- Erica Ortegas is played by Melissa Navia.
- Baby Olusanmokun plays Joseph M’Benga in the film.
- Una Chin-Riley (Rebecca Romijn) / Number One
Bruce Horak, on the other hand, is unlikely to be joining them anytime soon due to the unfortunate death of Hemmer in episode nine of season one.
Horak went into greater into about his character’s selfless behaviour in an interview with Collider that followed. To avoid a fight between Gorn and Gorn, he must sacrifice himself. “I think that’s a really nice point in the character’s life,” he remarked.
A core value of Starfleet is self-sacrifice for the sake of people you care about most. It’s as though all of the loose ends have been wrapped up in a beautiful bow after Uhura’s magnificent lesson.
This will not be a problem for long as Vampire Diaries actor Paul Wesley will shortly join the crew as a youthful James T Kirk!
“Paul is an outstanding performer, an astounding presence, and a welcome important addition to the show,” executive producer Alex Kurtzman and showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers said in a statement. His portrayal of the legendary role of Spock has pleased us all, as he is a lifelong Star Trek fan like all of us.
Our friend Wesley recently spoke with TVLine about his surprise early presence in the season one finale and the liberation he felt playing Kirk in his own way:
It’s impossible to overlook the inherent traits of James T Kirk — his instinct and his courage. More than everything else, he cherishes his staff. He attracts people. “He’s a magnet for attention, and people trust him.”
It was important for Wesley to be aware of these features, but he could not just imitate William Shatner. To perform a modern-day impersonation of Shatner in this manner would be an insult to his interpretation and what he done. A new character was required, one that didn’t disparage the original Kirk in any way.
Strange New Worlds Season 2 Plotline
What more is in store for the USS Enterprise in Strange New Worlds Season 2 besides the arrival of Captain Kirk?
Christina Chong recently told Deadline, “If you enjoyed season one, season two takes it to a whole other level.” “I mean, we’re getting scripts in, and I’m just blown away by what Henry and Akiva have come up with. If you were a fan of the first season, you’ll be blown away by the second!”
‘The cast has been speaking together, and we talk about how season one was definitely a meal, but we feel like we have so much more in this season,’ co-star Celia Rose Gooding concurred. So, everything is multiplied by itself.
Melissa Navia, in a recent interview with ScreenRant, teased season two even more with the same level of enthusiasm. There will be places we didn’t expect to go in Strange New Worlds Season 2, but there will be a reason why we did, as she put it.
Even though season three is already being talked about, my mind is still reeling from the events of season two. Some of the most significant moments we’ve ever documented are still in the works, especially for me. It’s an incredible rush.
After the season one finale aired, executive producer Akiva Goldsman and Deadline spoke about why that episode would have been a fantastic series conclusion before going on to discuss how this now sets up future episodes in season two:
We didn’t know if anyone would like this programme when we developed it, so keep that in mind.” Since the prospect of more exists, right? However, for the time being, I’ll consider this episode finished.
It also opens up the prospect of continuing the story because we’re coming back,” he said. However, we didn’t know at the time that it will continue into Strange New Worlds Season 2.
It was an attempt to wrap up the arc that began it, so to speak, and ultimately the thought that if we had been a one-season entity, we would’ve been delighted to end that way was the driving force behind it.
Goldsman looked upbeat when questioned about possible future crossovers with other Star Trek series like Discovery and Picard.
“All I have to say is that the concept of crossovers appeals to all of us. When and if this happens is still up in the air, but we’re doing our best to find out as soon as possible—at least, that’s my hope.”

Frequently Asked Question
The new Captain Kirk has been cast, but who is he?
Season 2 of “Strange New Worlds” stars Christopher Pike as Anson Mount. In a surprise only Star Trek could devise, Wesley is making his debut as Captain Kirk in the Season 1 finale. However, he is not the ship’s captain.
The Strange New Worlds has how many episodes?
It’s like coming home, but it’s also a new beginning, because it’s open to newcomers while yet maintaining a strong bond with longtime followers. Season 1 has something for everyone and captures the best of “Star Trek” in only ten episodes.
Do you think Picard is a part of Kelvin time?
However, Star Trek: Picard does not take place in the Kelvin timeline, but it provides additional context to the events that led to the alternate reality. In Star Trek: Picard, the cataclysmic catastrophe that helped shape the parallel reality is given greater perspective by the Kelvin timeline.
Loved it. There aren’t any better choices for Pike and Spock than Anson Mount and Ethan Peck. Babs Olusanmokun is one of my favourite actors, but he’s more than simply an actor to me.
When I’m in love with the script, I stop and revisit sections of the film. The scene in which Pike comes in to save Spock (T’Pring) in Spock Amok is one I watched a dozen times. The actors’ interactions and the depth of the dialogue were flawless.
This scene was much more poignant when I saw it in the next episode, so I went back to watch it again. The authors of Strange New World are setting an example for other series to follow, as many feel like each episode is an island unto itself, with no real connection or flow from one episode to the next.
