The Nun 2 Plotline
The plot of the movie is summed up as follows on the website: When and where this action takes place: 1956, in France The murder of a priest has simply stoked the flames of evil. “THE DEMON NUN” VALAK is back in the sequel to the international smash hit THE NUN to square off against SISTER IRENE.
The original 2018 film The Nun was set in 1952 Romania and recast a character from the original The Conjuring film (a woman dubbed “Frenchie” for obvious reasons) (one who was nicknamed, what else, Frenchie).
It’s not out of the question to assume that Taissa Farmiga and Jonas Bloquet, the movie’s lead actresses, will reprise their roles given the sequence, the character’s ending, and the explicit mention of Sister Irene.
The website states that casting is presently underway for the lead character Sophie, who is described as being between the ages of 10 and 12, and a quiet, sweet kid from St. Mary’s School in France who is also 10.
Oftentimes, a bunch of insulting ladies might reduce Sophie to tears. Together with FRENCHIE, the school’s groundskeeper, she becomes close. He’s the only person Sophie trusts outside her sister. She’s able to cope with the bullying at school, but suddenly strange demons start appearing to her.
The second segment concerns Antoinette, one of the schoolgirls who are reportedly Sophie’s tormentor. Valek will probably go see the girl soon, and Frenchie is to thank for that. The website specifies September – December as the production window.

The Nun Recap
In 1952 Romania, two nuns are attacked by an unseen demonic force after one of them enters a tunnel in search of an ancient Christian relic. Sister Victoria hangs herself after escape the demon-nun assault. A villager named Frenchie who supplied the nuns with food and other items discovers her body.
The Vatican sends Father Burke and a novice nun, Sister Irene, to Rome to look into what happened in Romania. Because Burke has come and needs Sister Irene’s assistance in Romania, the Mother Superior had to interrupt their class on religion and science.
They travel to the abbey in Romania with the help of Frenchie. A key can be found in the corpse of Victoria. The Abbess warns them that the sisters are quite strict about maintaining silence at night, but she also offers them sanctuary in the adjacent convent if they come back the following day. On his way home, Frenchie narrowly avoids a demonic assault. Burke reveals to Irene that the child he exorcised, named Daniel, perished during the ordeal. As a kid, Irene had visions that ended with “Mary leads the way,” catching the Church’s attention. After the demonic monster buries Burke alive in the graveyard, Irene rescues him that night.
Irene and Burke return to the cloistered abbey the next day, but only Irene can enter. She meets other nuns and learns they pray in shifts to keep the monster at bay. According to Sister Oana, the monastery was founded in the Middle Ages as a fortress by the mighty magician Duke of St. Carta. Christian knights shut the catacomb fissure after the duke called the monster. The gap was blown open by bombs during World War II, letting the monster escape. Burke discovers the Abbess is dead and Valak is the demon.
Frenchie returns to the abbey to aid Irene and Burke. Irene prays with the nuns to overcome Valak. When everyone gets back together, Irene learns that Sister Victoria was the last nun in the convent; she gave her life to keep Valak from taking over her body and unleashing evil on the world.
With Victoria’s key in hand, the trio is able to retrieve the vial, and they hope to use the blood of Christ contained within it to close the breach and destroy Valak. Irene informs Burke that God has called her to become a nun, and Burke makes her a professed nun in the abbey chapel.
Valak takes possession of Irene once the trio enters the tunnel. Frenchie exorcises the demon by smearing Christ’s blood on her face. At the same time as Valak is drowning Irene in a flooded chamber, Daniel’s spirit injures Burke. As the rift closes, Irene pours Christ’s blood at the demon, banishing it. Maurice is revealed after Frenchie revives Irene. Maurice is possessed by Valak, as shown by the inverted cross tattooed on his neck.
Twenty years later, during a college lecture in Wakefield, Massachusetts, Carolyn Perron watches Ed and Lorraine Warren play a film of their exorcism of Maurice. After Maurice takes Lorraine to Ed’s deathbed, the Warrens begin investigating the spectre of the Perron farmhouse.

This is the scariest and finest film. The cast doesn’t boring you in this wonderful movie. The Nun’s villain Valak has a cool design but appears rarely.
The plot is poorly constructed and the characters barely developed before their arc comes to a head in the most dangerously put together cliche jumble I’ve seen. It’s tragic to watch such wasted talent. The actors were good, but the writing was terrible, so even their work suffered. The set looks excellent in a few sequences, but since they keep hopping from one cheap scare to another, they cease being engaging and it becomes evident how often the film exploits darkness to hide its terrible quality.
The Nun’s prequel status makes it worse. Instead of her past, we get jump scares and nuns chasing each other. If you thought this movie was scary, keep praying.
